Introducing: THE “EURASIA EXPERINCE” Sunday, April 20th, 2008!
In a special dramatic presentation, a cast of over 60 people dressed in authentic Eurasian costuming, will bring the sights, sounds and smells of Eurasia to CCC! Starting promptly at 8:30am and 10:30am the entire congregation will be led through a 70 minute interactive experience. Join us aboard United Arab Emirates Flight #876 landing at an undisclosed location in the Middle East. You will experience a walk through airport customs, a Eurasian marketplace (watch out for pickpockets), Islamic and Hindu culture, and painstakingly accurate testimonies from Eurasian missionaries and converts powerfully re-enacted in several dramatic vignettes. A veteran missionary to the Middle East will present a penetrating message to conclude our time together. A missionary offering will be received for our missionary.
Please read the following carefully as it contains important information to properly prepare you for this unforgettable morning at Christian Celebration Center. CHILDREN - the costuming, drama and interactivity of this event will be very interesting for children. Consequently The Power Plant will not be meeting. First graders will join the younger children in the 100 series. Grades 2 and up will be walking through this experience with their parents. The nursery will function as normal. Since we are attempting to be as realistic as possible, some of the presentation may be intense, so it would be important to keep your children with you at all times during the experience. It would be a good idea to discuss this with them ahead of time, during and afterwards. This experience will present a great opportunity to discuss missions in your family structure; the reality of the need and the importance of reaching the lost with the Gospel –EVERYWHERE! ATTIRE -In keeping with eastern culture, there will be a portion of the experience when you will be asked to be seated on the floor. Ample chairs will be provided for those who are physically unable to do so. We suggest that everyone dress casual and comfortable for the morning. LUNCHEON - Following second service there will be an invitational luncheon in the chapel with a special guest will feature a “hint” of Eurasian cuisine. Our guest serves as the Eurasia Field Director for the Assemblies of God, giving over-sight to over 300 missionaries and over 200 Bible and extension schools throughout Eurasia. Tickets are free, but will be required since seating will be limited to 130 people. Tickets will be available following both morning services on April 6th and 13th (while supplies last). World missions are a vital part of our “DNA” at Christian Celebration Center. I would love for everyone to engage in missions firsthand by going on a mission trip, but realize that is unrealistic to expect. The Eurasia Experience presents an unprecedented opportunity to bring a cross-cultural experience to EVERYONE in our church family. Great effort has been taken to be as accurate as possible so some of what you may experience may challenge your comfort zone. Though this is NOT the end goal; it is unavoidable in a true cross–cultural experience. It IS our goal that we would leave with a better understanding of what our missionaries in Eurasia face on a daily basis and that we would gain a deeper compassion for so many in this region, who have NEVER ONCE, had an opportunity to hear the Gospel. I am looking forward to Sunday, April 20th with great anticipation as together we Experience Eurasia! |
