Beyond regular attendance, prayer, tithing, missions giving, and small group involvement, our church has a goal over the next few years to get as many people connected in ministry as possible and Move From Sitting To Serving: GO.  DO.

The Bible tells us that every believer can do ministry in some way.  Each person has important work to do in the church regardless of gender, age, or education.  Here’s what Paul wrote about God’s plan for us to serve and what we should do with our giftedness:

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Eph. 2:10).

If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully (Rom. 12: 7-8).

As a pastoral staff, one of our jobs is to help people discover where to put those God-given abilities, skills, and passions to use.  We need to partner together in this effort for the health of the church and also the spiritual health of individual believers.
