Junior Bible Quiz & Pee Wee Bible Quiz

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Junior Bible Quiz (JBQ) was developed by the Assemblies of God for teaching children: (1) Bible Doctrine, (2) Bible Facts, and (3) Scripture Memorization, (4) while having fun competing with other local churches’ teams. The program has two parts: JBQ is for children in grades 1-6 and Pee Wee Bible Quiz (Pee Wee Q) is for children in grades K-2 who have never competed in an official JBQ meet. Children in Pee Wee Q only study the beginning 10-point questions. Children in JBQ study 10-point questions and they also study 20 and 30-point, advanced questions. All quizzers study at home and practice quizzing with their parents as part of JBQ and Pee Wee Quiz programs.

TEAM MEETINGS
Both JBQ and Pee Wee Q have weekly team meeting on Sundays, starting in September through March. They review the questions that they have studied at home during the preceding week and practice quizzing on the “buzz box” when they know the answer. Parents are encouraged to come to the team meetings and to participate as score keepers, judges or quiz masters. This develops the skills needed for participation in official meets. Parental involvement is highly encouraged. JBQ is a parent driven organization. If you and your child are interested, then come and observe a team meeting. Historically, JBQ meets in Room 204 from 3:30 to 4:45 pm on most Sundays. Pee Wee Q meets in room 205 from 3:45 to 4:45 pm on most Sundays.

JBQ SECTIONAL TOURNAMENTS
Sectional JBQ tournaments are played with churches in the same Section of the State. Historically, we have quizzed in Midland at CCC, in Lapeer at the Lapeer Assembly of God, in Saginaw at Saginaw First Assembly of God, and at other A/G churches in the area. Sectional quiz meets are held on the mornings of the second Saturdays of the months of October and November for preseason practice, and also on second Saturdays of the months of January, February, and March for competition for standing in the Section. Achievement Awards are presented at the March Sectional Meet for teams and individual quizzers.

JBQ SPECIAL TOURNAMENTS
Besides Sectional quiz meets, JBQ teams can participate in MI Open in January and in the MI District Finals Tournament in March. These events give the quizzers and their parent’s opportunity to meet people from all over the State. Usually, State Finals requires an over night in a motel with a pool where they have lots of fun. Achievement Awards are presented at each of these tournaments. The team taking first place at State Finals automatically advances to both the Regional and National Tournaments. The teams in second, third, and fourth places advance to the Regional Tournament giving them a chance to qualify for Nationals.

PEE WEE QUIZ TOURNAMENTS
Pee Wee quizzers have up to three State wide tournaments during the Season. The Capital City Invitational is usually held in November in Lansing. The MI District Pee Wee Tournament is usually held in February at the Greater Lansing A/G and in other sites if available around the State. The top two team from each site or the six top teams in the state can attend the MI District Pee Wee Finals which will be held on March at the same location as the JBQ finals.

The Motto of JBQ and Pee Wee Q is Psalm 119:11 (NIV):
“I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You”

The Heart of JBQ and Pee Wee Q is given below:
“The HEART of JBQ and Pee Wee Q is to help parents hide
GOD’S WORD in their child’s HEART.”
